Blagdon, Somerset

Blagdon Lake

Blagdon is an iconic Somerset trout water with a quieter, more intimate character than neighbouring Chew. Its dedicated lodge and long fly-fishing tradition make it a natural companion trip rather than a duplicate one.

Rules

Fly fishing only; catch-and-release tickets require barbless flies. Boat and bank anglers must follow Bristol Water's current fishery rules and booking conditions. Best months and methods (Better Angler editorial suggestion, not a guarantee of catch rates): March-June and September-November for nymphs, buzzers, dries and traditional reservoir wet and lure patterns from bank or boat.
