Grafham, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Grafham Water
A nationally important competition reservoir with a genuine choice between serious trout fishing and seasonal predator sport. Strong accessibility infrastructure and a full fishing lodge make it a comfortable venue for a long day on the water.
Rules
Trout fishing is fly fishing from bank or boat. Predator rules include specified lure, fly and deadbait seasons; dead sea baits must meet the published minimum size, and suitable nets and unhooking mats are mandatory. Best months and methods (Better Angler editorial suggestion, not a guarantee of catch rates): April-June and September-November for trout on nymphs, buzzers, dries and lure patterns from bank or boat; autumn and winter for permitted pike, perch and zander methods.
