Loch Leven is not a stocked-reservoir substitute: it offers boat fishing for genuine wild Scottish brown trout on one of angling's historically important waters. That heritage and wild-fish identity set it apart.
Rules
Main trout fishing is boat-based and traditionally fly fishing for wild brown trout. Winter pike is separately scheduled. Current detailed hook, fish-retention and pike-method rules should be taken from the operator when booking, as the full wording is not published online. Best months and methods (Better Angler editorial suggestion, not a guarantee of catch rates): April-June and September for wild brown trout on traditional wet flies, nymphs and dries from a drifting boat; selected winter sessions for pike.
