Newland Hall Fishery
Newland Hall Fishery is a well-established four-lake carp and coarse fishing complex at the Newland Hall Country Estate near Roxwell, approximately four miles west of Chelmsford in Essex. With a choice of pleasure fishing, match fishing and specimen carp waters, it caters for anglers looking for anything from a few hours' fishing to an extended overnight session. Brook Lake is the largest of the four waters, with approximately 50 pegs and a good stock of common and mirror carp, including fish exceeding 30lb. Roach and perch are also present. The 30-peg Moat Lake has a high density of carp and roach, making it particularly suited to pleasure anglers and matches, while the smaller Park Lake has approximately 15 pegs and offers similar mixed coarse fishing. Osiers Lake is the specialist carp water, with eight carefully positioned swims and common and mirror carp ranging from around 15lb to 35lb. It is available for day and night fishing when not privately booked, and exclusive whole-lake bookings can also be arranged. The fishery operates throughout the year, with day and night tickets available. Individual anglers normally do not need to book in advance. Fishing is on a first-come, first-served basis, with the bailiff collecting payment on the bank. Entry is permitted between 6am and 8pm, although anglers holding the appropriate tickets can fish overnight. Facilities include dedicated fishing parking, toilets, drinking water, refreshments and bait and tackle facilities. Fishery rules include barbless hooks, suitable landing nets and unhooking mats, and a maximum of two rods unless additional permission is granted.
