River Severn – Blackstone

Blackstone offers a clearly identified left-bank section of the middle Severn below Blackstone Rock, close to Bewdley. The Association describes about 1,500 yards of fishing, with typical depths of four to eight feet. Its published species list includes barbel, chub, roach, dace, pike and eels, giving members a choice between mixed coarse fishing and more targeted approaches without any need to assume additional species or specimen sizes. The official navigation coordinate leads to the road entrance at Blackstone Farm, rather than directly to a swim. From there, members follow the authorised track and gated route to the riverside meadows, where the page permits parking alongside fishing pegs. Access is not suitable for Transit-type vans or larger vehicles, and gates must be secured after use. The private-water exclusion is particularly important: fishing upstream of Blackstone Rock and the first two pegs below it is not included. Use the marked BAA water only. Annual membership and the appropriate rod licence are required, and night fishing is prohibited.
