River Teme – Stanford Bridge
Stanford Bridge offers a defined upstream section of the River Teme rather than general fishing around the village bridges. Birmingham Anglers Association describes three quarters of a mile on the left bank above the old road bridge. Its official plan shows that single-bank reach and places the association car park beside the old crossing, making the bridge both a useful arrival landmark and the downstream reference for the fishery. Barbel, chub, roach and pike are all expressly named in the fishery description. The approach is from the A443, turning at Stockton onto the B4203 and continuing to the parking near the old bridge, just beyond the Bridge Hotel. The gate combination is supplied on the BAA membership card rather than publicly in the directions. Annual membership provides the normal permission to fish, subject to association rules and the appropriate rod licence. Unlike several other Teme waters, Stanford Bridge is included in BAA’s night-permit scheme, but an additional advance permit is necessary for fishing beyond normal permitted hours.
