River Thames - Dumsey Meadow public bank

Dumsey Meadow is a riverside meadow on the Surrey bank of the River Thames just downstream of Chertsey Bridge, within the Staines-to-Teddington stretch that Visit Thames lists as free fishing wherever there is legitimate public access. There is no day-ticket charge on genuinely public bank, but a valid Environment Agency rod licence is required and the coarse close season (15 March to 15 June inclusive) applies. The meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so not every part of it or its riverbank should be treated as available for fishing: keep to established paths and swims, avoid damaging grassland and bankside vegetation, and take all litter and line home. Angling guides describe access close to Chertsey Bridge with a small car park and a walk towards the meadow; parking and exact swim boundaries have not yet been confirmed from official sources, so check local signs before setting up. Night fishing has not been confirmed and should not be assumed. A species list has not yet been verified for this listing.
