Free public towpath fishing at Sonning Lock. The upstream towpath toward the old power-station discharge is available through the normal coarse season; the downstream section from the lock to Sonning Road Bridge is available only from 1 November to 14 March.

Upstream towpath toward the old power-station discharge is fishable in the normal coarse season; downstream from the lock to Sonning Road Bridge only 1 Nov–14 Mar. Observe exact boundaries. • An Environment Agency rod licence may be required in addition to the fishery/club permission. • Normal coarse river close season: 15 March–15 June inclusive, unless a different legal/species rule applies. • Carp and coarse fish: catch-and-release unless the fishery rules state otherwise.
