Sunbury, Surrey
River Thames - Sunbury Lock public bank
Attractive lock/island river environment
Rules
Sunbury Lock is not currently listed among the Environment Agency's designated lock-and-weir permit fishing sites (gov.uk/guidance/river-thames-lock-and-weir-fishing), so do not fish the lock or weir structure itself. This does not affect the nearby free public-bank fishing. Respect navigation restrictions. • An Environment Agency rod licence may be required in addition to the fishery/club permission. • Normal coarse river close season: 15 March–15 June inclusive, unless a different legal/species rule applies. • Free only where the river bank is genuinely public access; do not cross private land. • Carp and coarse fish: catch-and-release unless the fishery rules state otherwise.
