River Wye – Upper Wye, Hadnock
Monmouth & District Angling Society's Upper Wye fishery comprises approximately 1,000 metres of left-bank fishing at Hadnock, upstream of Monmouth. It is a separate society-controlled bank from the Fishing Passport's right-bank Wyastone Leys water nearby. Permission here does not cover the opposite bank or the society's separate Lower Wye fishery. Reach the water along Hadnock Road and use the small parking area before Hadnock Cottages. The first accessible swim is approximately 60 paces downstream of the car park. Further upstream swims are reached from the cycle track through the sheep-pen entrance opposite the cottages. The society identifies the end of its water at the Gwent Angling sign, approximately 300 metres below the river bend. Banks are steep and may be slippery when wet. Fishing requires annual membership; the society no longer offers day memberships. Adult membership is £65, with concession, family and junior options, and runs to 31 December. This is coarse fishing in season, with barbel, chub, grayling and pike listed in the society's Wye information; trout targeting is prohibited. Follow its catch-and-release and tackle rules. The recorded coordinate is the location marker beside cycle-track parking on the official map, not a boundary endpoint.
Rules
Coarse season 16 June–14 March. Catch and release, barbless hooks, maximum two rods, no keepnets/livebait/pre-baiting, no trout targeting. Fishing one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset; no overnight fishing. Left bank; use marked society limits.
