Walthamstow Fishery
Ten reservoirs and multiple angling styles inside London make Walthamstow one of the UK's most distinctive urban fisheries. It offers a rare combination of serious coarse fishing, trout water and unusually strong public-transport accessibility.
Rules
An Environment Agency rod licence is required. Coarse anglers must carry suitable landing and fish-care equipment, including a landing net and unhooking mat, under published local guidance. Private boat use is unspecified. Normally open during daylight hours. Best months and methods (Better Angler editorial suggestion, not a guarantee of catch rates): April-June and September-October for mixed coarse fishing on float or feeder tactics; fly anglers should use the two dedicated trout reservoirs under current fishery rules.
