Barnsley & District Amalgamated Angling Society

Barnsley society with over 600 members, home of Worsbrough Reservoir and River Trent fishing at Fiskerton.

Barnsley & District Amalgamated Angling Society (BDAAS) grew from an amalgamation of local colliery and tavern angling clubs and now has more than 600 members, from juniors to seniors. It owns or holds the fishing rights to Worsbrough Reservoir, Sally Walsh's, Smithies Lane Reservoir and Tinkers Pond around Barnsley, as well as a stretch of the River Trent at Fiskerton in Nottinghamshire. Worsbrough Reservoir, home of the Barnsley Blacks match team, reopened in 2024 after bank refurbishment and restocking and has easy-access pegs. Smithies Lane and Tinkers Pond are smaller, quieter pleasure waters. The society encourages young anglers and offers access for disabled anglers where possible.
