Beccles Angling Club

Long-established club running Haddiscoe Lake near Beccles.

Beccles Angling Club has been going for more than a century and has leased Haddiscoe Lake, a former gravel pit near Beccles on the Norfolk–Suffolk border, for over 30 years. The club is funded entirely by subscriptions, which go back into the venue, with volunteers carrying out work parties such as boundary fencing. Roach, tench, perch, bream and carp are present. A programme of matches runs through the year, though many members fish purely for pleasure and enjoy the quiet setting. The club also holds a well-supported children's match each year, usually in September, with prizes donated by local businesses.
