Cinque Ports Angling Society

Hythe club controlling much of the Royal Military Canal plus Stanford Lake.

Founded in the 1920s, Cinque Ports Angling Society is based in Hythe and holds the fishing on just under half the length of the Royal Military Canal, including stretches around Hythe and West Hythe and out towards Warehorne. The canal offers carp, tench, pike, perch, bream and roach, with most of it available on day ticket and a members-only section between Lympne Bridge and West Hythe Dam. The society also controls Stanford Lake, a small wooded stillwater with an island near North Stanford. Club matches are held on various waters through the season.
