Hadleigh, Suffolk

Hadleigh & District Angling Society

Long-established Suffolk club with River Brett stretches and five stillwaters.

Founded in 1929 to keep fishing available to local people, Hadleigh & District Angling Society reformed in 1947 after the war and has built up its waters steadily since. Members fish stretches of the River Brett around Hadleigh along with five stillwaters: Bullock Fen, the Pondfield Match and Carp Lakes, Alverstoke Carp Lake and Polstead Pond. Bullock Fen has a flat dam-wall area suited to less mobile anglers. Access is strictly members only, members help look after the waters through working parties, and the society runs summer and winter match programmes.
