Izaak Walton (Stafford) Anglers Association offers stretches of canal, river and several pools around Stafford. Its premier carp water is Hopton Pools, two pools holding carp to over 20 lb, with a busier lower pool and a larger, snaggier upper pool; a night syndicate is available. Other pools include Little Gem at Bradley, acquired in 2023, and the small Brick Kiln Pits at Milwich, which closes from 15 March to 15 June. The association holds open and league competitions through the season, memberships are sold through a Stafford tackle shop, and committee meetings at Stafford Boat House are open to members.
