Kelvedon, Essex

Kelvedon & District Angling Association

Members-only coarse club with ten stillwaters and Blackwater and Chelmer river fishing in mid-Essex.

Kelvedon & District Angling Association (KDAA), founded in 1947, is a members-only coarse club covering an area within about eight miles of Kelvedon, between Chelmsford and Colchester. It controls ten stillwaters open all year, six of which allow night fishing on a separate permit, including the Silver End pits, Seabrooks Reservoir and pools in the Layer Marney complex. River fishing covers stretches of the Blackwater between Stisted and Kelvedon and of the Chelmer between Springfield Lock and Heybridge Basin. Carp, bream, tench, chub, perch, roach, dace and pike are all present. There are no day tickets, but members can take guests, and the club runs a match programme.
