Newtown Angling Club

Bracknell-based coarse angling club providing members access to Thames Valley and Reading District waters.

Newtown Angling Club formed in the mid-1960s and absorbed the membership of Bracknell Avocets Angling Society in 2019. The club does not own stillwaters itself; instead, membership grants access to a wide range of waters through affiliation with the Thames Valley Angling Association and the Reading & District Angling Association, covering stretches of the River Kennet, Kennet & Avon Canal, River Thames at Sonning, Wallingford and Sandford Weir, plus various gravel pits around Reading and Newbury. The club runs a full programme of pairs and individual matches, trophies and a Club Championship decided across the season, with results and fixtures published on its own website and coordinated through committee meetings and a members' WhatsApp group.
