Northampton Nene Angling Club controls a large portfolio of river, canal and stillwater fishing in and around Northampton. River fishing includes many stretches of the River Nene through the town centre (including Midsummer Meadow, Becketts Park and the Nene Navigation Channel) and downstream to Earls Barton, Cogenhoe and Whiston Lock, plus the Great Ouse at Turvey, Newton Blossomville and Carlton. Canal fishing covers the Grand Union main line from Norton Junction to Braunston and Dodford to Castlethorpe, the Leicester Arm and the Northampton Arm. Stillwaters include Astwell Mill (Top Lake), Silver Lake and Blue Lagoon. Day tickets are available on some stretches.
