Bordeaux Pits, Saffron Walden
Lake
Club main and small pits, under ongoing stock management.
Essex coarse club with three stillwaters and two river stretches.
Saffron Walden Angling Club took its current form in 1960 when members secured the lease on Newport pit. Today it controls three stillwaters, including the Bordeaux main and small pits, and two river stretches, offering quiet coarse fishing away from commercial venues. The club has recently restocked its main lake with roach and bream and is working to protect stocks from cormorants and otters. Membership is managed through Clubmate, with a student rate for younger anglers.
