South Cerney, Gloucestershire

South Cerney Angling Club

Cotswold Water Park club with gravel-pit lakes and upper Thames and Ray fishing.

South Cerney Angling Club was formed in 1936 and is based at its clubhouse, the Fisherman's Rest, in the Cotswold Water Park. The club controls a large portfolio of gravel-pit lakes alongside stretches of the upper River Thames (including around Cricklade, Castle Eaton, Hannington, Inglesham and Kelmscott) and the River Ray. Its lakes include the day-ticket waters Gillmans and Stait, together with Ham Pool, Whitefriars, Dab Chick, Franklins, Stanton Lake and the more recently acquired Walters Lake, a snake-lake match water. The clubhouse also runs as a licensed social venue for fishing and social members.
