Stockport & District Anglers Federation

Stockport federation with Compstall Reservoir, Poynton Pool, Woodbank Park Pool and River Goyt fishing.

Stockport & District Anglers Federation offers coarse fishing on stillwaters around Stockport and stretches of the River Goyt. Its waters include Compstall Reservoir in Etherow Country Park, now mainly a carp water that also holds bream and roach; Poynton Pool, a challenging specimen carp water; Woodbank Park Pool in Offerton, with tench, crucian carp, perch, roach and carp; and Newhouse Farm at Bramhall, which requires a key from Hazel Grove Angling. Federation cards run from 16 June to 15 June and are sold through local tackle-shop vendors. A new committee has been in place in recent years, and in 2026 the federation reported that water levels at Poynton Pool were being lowered for reservoir safety surveys.
