River and drain fishing includes a private stretch of the Rother at Bodiam, the Rother at Beckley and the Newmill, Hexden and Potmans Heath channels, which hold tench, bream, carp and big pike. Further Rother and Royal Military Canal fishing is available through the Rother Fishery Association. Membership runs from 1 May to 30 April, and juniors under 12 fish free.
