The London Anglers' Association

Historic London-based association with river, canal and lake fishing across southern England.

The London Anglers' Association was founded in 1884 and is based in Walthamstow. It is one of the country's largest angling associations, controlling fishing across southern and eastern England for individual members and dozens of affiliated societies that book its waters for matches. River fishing includes stretches of the Great Ouse, Cam, Lea, Stort, Stour, Thames, Wissey and the Hampshire Avon at Britford, plus the Grand Union Canal. Stillwaters include Bures Lake in Essex, Hemingford Grey Pit in Cambridgeshire and Stollies Lake near Theydon Mount. Season membership runs to 31 March, with optional Britford coarse and game add-ons, and juniors fish free under set conditions.
