Wakefield club with local stillwaters, canal lengths and river stretches, based at Flanshaw Dam.
Wakefield Angling Club offers a variety of stillwaters, lengths of canal and stretches of river in the Wakefield area. The club's headquarters water is Flanshaw Dam, a former mill dam with 25 pegs that is well stocked with bream, roach, rudd, perch, ide and carp. An Environment Agency grant funded a two-metre-wide path around the dam, making it suitable for anglers with limited mobility, and access to the secure car park is by key. Most fish at Flanshaw are caught on pole or waggler.
