Wards 84 Angling Club

Small, friendly Worcester club with River Teme fishing and two stillwaters west of the city.

Wards 84 Angling Club grew out of the angling section of the HW Ward engineering company in Blackpole, Worcester, and continued as an independent club after the factory closed in 1984. It controls three waters within about two miles west of the city: a half-mile stretch of the River Teme upstream of Bransford Bridge, known for barbel, chub and dace, Grove Farm Lake with specimen carp, and the spring-fed Wards Pool. The club focuses on social and leisure fishing and runs regular Sunday matches on its stillwaters. It is affiliated to the Angling Trust, and the Teme stretch can also be fished on a day ticket from local tackle shops.
