Private fly fishing club with four stocked trout lakes at Wolvey and Copston Magna, Warwickshire.
Warwickshire Fly Fishers is a private, non-profit club formed in 1967 to promote fly fishing. It controls four stocked stillwaters bordering Leicestershire: two lakes at Wolvey (Snipe and Tern) offering easy access, and two more secluded lakes at Copston Magna (Eider and Mallard). The waters hold rainbow trout averaging 2-3lb and brown trout averaging 2lb, with fish reported up to 4lb, and are fished year-round. Members take part in projects such as pool maintenance and improvement, and the club publishes monthly catch returns for each lake. Toilet facilities are provided at both sites, though at Copston Magna these are situated in a farmyard around eight minutes' walk from the lakes. The club publishes clear catch-and-release and take-home rules and sets a maximum overall membership of 150 anglers.
