Yeovil & Sherborne Angling Association

Long-established Yeovil and Sherborne association offering coarse and match fishing on Sherborne Castle Estate Lake and local rivers.

Yeovil & Sherborne Angling Association traces its roots to the Yeovil club founded in 1884, which merged with the Sherborne club around 1960. The association provides pleasure and match fishing for anglers across the Yeovil and Sherborne area on the Somerset and Dorset border, and is run by a volunteer committee responsible for venue management, fish stocks and organising matches. Its main stillwater is Sherborne Castle Estate Lake, which holds bream, tench, pike, perch, roach and rudd and is open all year, subject to estate closures in poor weather. Members also fish several local rivers and drains, and the club has a match-only venue. Membership is annual and handled through an online portal, with a waiting list currently in place for new applicants. The association holds an annual general meeting, publishes a newsletter and has bailiffs and a river co-ordinator among its officers.
